Shortlist of Pontenial Songs (Planning)

Before we decided on our shortlist of pontential songs for our music video, we had to decide what kind of video and genre we wanted to do. After discussing as a group we wanted to do a medium/fast paced song so that we could really play around with fast editing styles and produce a video that is very entertaining for the viewer. The genre that we thought would best suit this was RnB. We also wanted a song that wasn't widely known or heard by that many people but also a song that would be easy to listen to for a wide range of audience. I made a clip with our shortlist of songs which is below:

Why we decided on these songs:

J Warner - Reminiscing

J Warner is a rising artist from south east London. He has only released one or two songs so he hansn't really broken the mainstream barrier which is why he chose him. Additionally he is not signed to a record label and I also know him personally so it would be simple for us to gain permission to use his song.

Bluey Robinson - Gotta be a way
Bluey is also an upcoming artist from south east London that I know personally and we liked his unique style of music and this is one of the songs of his that we chose to do:

We also Chose Pixie Lott - Cry me out
we felt that it was a song that we could easily illustrate with a video and it was a nice likeable song but the disadvantage was that it was a very well known song and it the audience would make a comparrison to the original.

Pixie Lott - Cry Me Out

Davinche ft Cleo Sol - Hero

We really liked this one when we heard it and quite a lot of ideas came to mind when i listened to it a few times. The song is not really known as well so it would be perfect to do our video with this song and its a good up tempo RnB song so we can really play around with a lot of editing techniques and camera angles.

We also really liked Natalie May - Dumb it was quite an upbeat song as well that we can use a lot of editing styles with. It didnt have a video to it so we could really just start fresh and not need to make ours different to the original. Also it would be easy to get permission to use it because Camilla knows her manager.

The last song we chose for our shortlist was Bluey Robinson - Showgirl
This was another song by Bluey that we really liked, it was a fun dancy' kind of song which we thought would be a good choice for a video and it also didn't have a video. we also found a similar song by the same artist that we also liked called "Give me a Sign"
